Acres of space – a magical place!
Far more than a castle – one of the most exciting destinations in North Wales

Symbol of wealth
Built on the Pennant family fortune made from slaves, sugar and slate, this vast 19th century neo-Norman creation captures everyone’s imagination. Creeper-clad turrets rise majestically in the landscape with views to the dramatic peaks of Snowdonia and the glittering Menai Strait.

Extravagant past
Re-live the days of Victorian opulence in lavishly furnished rooms richly hung with dazzling silks and hand-painted Chinese wallpaper. Marvel at the collection of Old Master paintings. Explore the warren of rooms ‘below stairs’ where an army of servants held sway.

Time to play
Wander and picnic in 50 acres of landscaped grounds. Let the children clamber in the adventure playground. Visit the railway museum and see steam engines restored to their former glory. Enjoy delicious local produce in the licensed tea rooms.

A varied and exciting programme of events for all the family. See our online calendar www.nationaltrust.org.uk/events
