Your Underground Adventure unfolds as you sail along an
underground river, through the great waterfall, deep into the Labyrinth
and far into the past.... into a world of mystery, legends and storytelling.
Explore a labyrinth of tunnels and spectacular caverns, as tales
of King Arthur and other ancient Welsh legends unfold in this dramatic
underground setting.
Information for Schools
The Arthur you hear of is the hero of the earliest legends, a Dark
Age warrior fighting the Saxon invader to bring peace to the Island
of Britain. His feats of bravery, his supernatural powers and his
strength of leadership brought defeat to his enemies and his fame
was sung throughout the land. Stories of dragons, of giants, of
battles, of treachery and of floods ….enthralling for all
ages.
King Arthur’s Labyrinth is an exciting visitor attraction
where an underground boat ride takes visitors deep into the spectacular
caverns under the Braichgoch Mountain at Corris near Machynlleth.
Stories unfold, throughout the visit, with stunning sound and light
effects.
The
journey’s end will take you back along the beautiful subterranean
river into the grounds of Corris Craft Centre and the Bards’
Quest.
Back above ground, explore the maze of the Bards’
Quest. Wales has many wonderful legends which have evolved
over the centuries, passed down by bards and storytellers. Now,
they are known to only a few and are slowly forgotten. Take on the
challenge of the Bards’ Quest and help to save these legends
from extinction by searching for them in the maze of time.
Corris
Craft Centre is the starting point for the King Arthur’s
Labyrinth underground adventure and is home to 10 craft workshops.
See at first hand 10 talented craftspeople and buy fabulous unique
hand-crafted items: hand-made cards, rustic furniture, hand-turned
wood, glassware, quilting, candles, leatherwork, jewellery, pottery
and wooden toys. The Labyrinth shop sells a range of books, gifts,
toys and souvenirs on the Celtic Arthurian theme.
The Centre Cafe is light, bright and modern with amazing views
and serves locally sourced ingredients to make up an interesting
menu with a Welsh twist. In the gardens, there's picnic tables and
a children's play area.
When visiting King Arthur’s Labyrinth wrap up warm as the
underground caverns are cool. The 45 minute tour of the caverns
involves a walk of about half a mile along level gravel paths unsuitable
only for the very frail. However, the variety of craft shops, gardens
and refreshments within the Corris Craft Centre and the stunning
scenery of the Corris valley provide ample enjoyment for everyone.
